Congress factions clash in free-for-all in Nagpur

IndiaTimes Thursday, 12 October 2023
A review meeting in Nagpur, chaired by state Congress president Nana Patole, turned violent as party factions clashed over speaking rights. The meeting was meant to discuss strategies for upcoming elections and evaluate previous decisions. Chaos erupted when a leader was denied the chance to speak, leading to party workers pushing, jostling, and even throwing chairs. Senior leaders like Vijay Wadettiwar and Sunil Kedar stormed out, forcing the meeting to be halted. The meeting also aimed to discuss seat-sharing with other parties. Patole denied reports of a scuffle but acknowledged a minor argument.
