Akali Dal asks Punjab assembly speaker to train AAP MLAs on Satluj-Yamuna link canal issue

Shiromani Akali Dal leader Daljit Singh Cheema has requested the speaker of the Punjab Assembly to organize a training session for ruling party MLAs on the Satluj-Yamuna link (SYL) canal issue. Cheema expressed concern over the silence of ruling party MLAs on the matter and criticized some Punjab MPs for openly supporting Haryana. The SYL canal issue arose from a water-sharing agreement in 1981, and the two states were supposed to construct their portions of the canal within their territories.
