Avoid repeated adjournment request over unavailability of arguing counsel: Bombay HC

IndiaTimes Thursday, 19 October 2023
The Bombay High Court has adjourned a petition filed by Byramjee Jeejeebhoy, a large landowner in Mumbai, until December 22. The court stated that requests for adjournments due to unavailability of counsel should be avoided in order to prioritize the interests of litigants and the functioning of the court. Jeejeebhoy's petition, filed in 2017, claimed non-payment of compensation for the acquisition of one of its plots and sought an increase in the compensation amount.
