Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the appointment of Former vice president M Venkaiah Naidu has as a nominated member in the jury of the prestigious Gandhi Peace Prize, according to Union minister G Kishan Reddy. The prize, which was instituted by the government of India in 1995, is open to all individuals regardless of nationality. It carries an amount of Rs 1 crore, a citation, a plaque and an exquisite traditional handicraft or handloom item.
