Kovind panel to meet law commission members today on '1 nation, 1 poll'
Moving ahead on its deliberations exploring possibilities of simultaneous elections to Parliament and state assemblies, a high-level committee headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind will meet with members of the law commission led by its chairman Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi here on Wednesday. The law commission too has been looking into completing a report recommending ways to make simultaneous polls possible. Its past deliberations in 2018 remained inconclusive with lack of consensus between political parties.
