Moitra also requested to be allowed to "cross-examine" businessman Darshan Hiranandani due to the nature of the allegations. She expressed her eagerness to have a fair hearing and an opportunity to defend herself against the allegations made by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) searched Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra's Kolkata residence in a cash-for-query case. This action followed the CBI's filing of a First Information Report (FIR) against Moitra. The Lokpal instructed the CBI to investigate the allegations and provide monthly updates on the progress.
