Ban BS-III, IV diesel buses in Haryana, UP and Rajasthan to curb pollution in Delhi-NCR: Gopal Rai

IndiaTimes Monday, 30 October 2023
Delhi's environment minister, Gopal Rai, visited ISBT Kashmere Gate and blamed vehicles, particularly those from neighbouring states, for the rising pollution in north Delhi. He alleged that BS-III diesel buses were to blame for the pollution and urged the Centre to implement a complete ban on such buses in the NCR areas of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. From November 1 onwards, only CNG, electric, and BS-VI buses will be allowed to enter Delhi from neighbouring states. Rai also stated that checks will be conducted at all entry points and action will be taken against non-compliant buses.
