Andhra Pradesh train collision toll rises to 13; loco driver may have jumped signal
The death toll in a train collision in Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh, has risen to 13, with 50 people injured. The accident occurred when one train rear-ended another, causing three coaches to derail. An inquiry into the cause of the accident has been ordered, with speculation that the train overshot a red signal. The Chief Minister has requested a high-level committee to examine why the communication and signalling systems failed. 47 trains have been cancelled as a result of the accident.
