Tuesday, 7 November 2023 IPS officer Vidhi Kumar Birde has been appointed as IGP (Kashmir Zone) and will also hold the charge of the Armed Wing of J&K Police. ADGP (Kashmir Range) Vijay Kumar has been redesignated as ADGP (Law and Order), J&K. The Zonal IGPs of Kashmir and Jammu will report to ADGP (Law & Order), J&K, under the overall command and control of DGP, J&K. Anand Jain has been posted as IGP (Jammu Zone) after the deputation of ADGP (Jammu Range) Mukesh Kumar to New Delhi.
