Friday, 10 November 2023 India has expressed its concerns to the US regarding the increasing activities of pro-Khalistani elements in Canada. The concerns were raised during the '2+2' foreign and defence ministerial meeting. India highlighted its core security concerns and the recent surfacing of a video involving a pro-Khalistani individual. The US delegation, led by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin, acknowledged India's concerns. India had temporarily suspended the issuance of visas to Canadian citizens and asked for a downsizing of diplomatic presence.
