A temple of Sita without any idol of Lord Ram

IndiaTimes Friday, 10 November 2023
A shrine to Sita in Yavatmal district, Maharashtra, has been renovated and reopened. The unique shrine celebrates single motherhood and is dedicated to Sita and her twins Luv and Kush, without the presence of Ram and Lakshman. The shrine's renovation has brought new life to the temple and is seen as a symbol of courage and inspiration for single mothers, especially widows in farming communities. The shrine's uniqueness was highlighted in 2001 by Sharad Joshi, the founder of the farmers' group Shetkari Sanghatana.
