Veteran CPI(M) leader Basudeb Acharia passes away in Hyderabad

Basudeb Acharia, a veteran CPI(M) leader and nine-time member of Parliament, passed away at the age of 81 due to ill health. He had been suffering from respiratory and other health issues. Acharia was known for his involvement in politics from a young age and his dedication to the trade union movement. He was highly respected for his advocacy on behalf of farmers and his efforts to implement the Swaminathan Commission's recommendations on remunerative prices.
