Karnataka: Murugha seer held in 2nd case, HC orders his release

Shivamurthy Murugha, former pontiff of Jagadguru Murugha Rajendra Bruhanmath, was arrested in a second Pocso case but was released on legal grounds by the Karnataka high court. The pontiff had previously been arrested in September last year for sexual abuse of minor girls in a mutt-run hostel. The high court had granted him bail with the condition that he could not enter Chitradurga and must attend court through video-conferencing. The court noted that the orders passed by the trial court were contrary to the high court's orders and caused gross injustice.
