So near, yet so far: Drilling halts again after another snag

The rescue operation to evacuate the 41 workers trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel was temporarily halted due to a snag with the drilling machine. The American auger drilling machine encountered a problem just 13 meters away from the trapped workers. The platform on which the machine is mounted developed cracks and needs stabilization. The drilling will resume once the platform is fully stabilized. The operation is considering alternative options for the rescue.
