22 months after PM’s security breach, Bathinda SP suspended
Saturday, 25 November 2023 Bathinda SP (investigations) Gurwinder Singh Sangha has been suspended for dereliction of duty resulting in a security breach during PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab on January 5, 2022. Sangha, who was then SP (operations) at Ferozepur, received the suspension orders this November 22, more than 22 months after the security lapse. The suspension notice to the SP, issued by Punjab home affairs and justice department secretary Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, cited a report from the DGP submitted on October 18.
