Rioting cases dipped in Assam & Uttar Pradesh, rose in Chhattisgarh in last 5 years

According to the latest crime data compiled by the NCRB, incidents of rioting in Assam and Uttar Pradesh decreased by 80% and 50% respectively between 2018 and 2022. However, Chhattisgarh recorded a significant increase of over 44% in rioting incidents. Countrywide, incidents of rioting, including communal, sectarian, political, industrial, and caste-based, decreased by 34% during the same period. Kerala had the highest number of political riots in the country in 2022.
