PM Modi determined to triple nuclear power capacity in next decade: IAEA chief
The IAEA chief addressed scientists at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and the Indian Nuclear Society's conference on clean energy transition. Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to triple India's nuclear installed capacity in the next decade. India is the world's second-largest domestic builder of nuclear plants with eight reactors under construction. The Nuclear Power Corporation plans to add 14,500MW in the nuclear power sector. India has the potential to become a hub for the global nuclear market through exports and partnerships. An agreement between the Indian Nuclear Society and the French Nuclear Society will strengthen public outreach.
