Thursday, 14 December 2023 Telangana Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu took charge of the office at the State Secretariat in Hyderabad on Thursday. Meanwhile, Congress MLA Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu arrived at the State Secretariat amid the chanting of mantras by priests. Earlier, Congress MLA Gaddam Prasad Kumar from Vikarabad filed a nomination for the post of Speaker of the Telangana Legislative Assembly on Wednesday. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Legislative Affairs Minister D Sridhar Babu, other Cabinet Ministers, former Minister and BRS Working President KTR, and other legislators were also present on the occasion.

On Wednesday, the Election Commission took action against former Telangana CM and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao, barring him from campaigning for 48 hours, effective from 8 pm today. This decision was made due to "derogatory and objectionable statements" made by Rao against the Congress party. The EC's action followed a complaint filed by Congress leader G Niranjan, prompting the commission to issue a notice to K Chandrashekar Rao. The EC noted that Rao had previously received several advisories and instructions regarding his speeches.
