Thursday, 14 December 2023 The security regimen in Lok Sabha witnessed a complete overhaul after a security breach. Personal staff of MPs were not allowed entry and the visitors gallery remained empty. Movement of mediapersons was restricted and MPs could only interact with them at designated spots. Security measures included eye-scanning and thorough checks of credentials. Security was also tightened at Transport Bhavan. Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma had to enter the new parliament building through a different gate than intended.

West Bengal recorded the highest turnout till 5 PM at 77.57 per cent, followed by Tripura at 76.10 per cent.
