Friday, 22 December 2023
With the aim to "connect students with India's rich, ancient culture", the Gujarat government on Friday launched a supplementary textbook on the Bhagavad Gita for classes 6 to 8 on the occasion of Gita Jayanti. The textbook will be added to the curriculum from the next academic year. The Bhagavad Gita content for classes 9 to 12 was in the process of completion and would be included in the Gujarati language textbook soon, officials said. Sources in the government informed students "will just be assessed without assigning any marks."
