Karnataka govt school principal suspended over video of students cleaning toilets
Thursday, 28 December 2023 A principal of a Karnataka government-run school was suspended after a video circulated showing students cleaning toilets. This is the third incident of its kind in Karnataka this month. The event took place in a government school in Bhadravati taluk, Shivamogga district. Concerned parents protested after seeing the video. The headmaster claimed that the students were only asked to pour water, not clean. However, the senior education department officer conducted an inquiry and suspended the headmaster.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended two suspects - Mussavir Hussain Shazib and Abdul Matheen Taha - in connection with Bengaluru's Rameswaram Cafe blast case on Friday. The two were nabbed near West Bengal's Kolkata. Mussavir Hussain Shazib has been identified as the alleged "mastermind" behind the low-intensity blast that occurred at a prominent eatery in Bengaluru on March 1. Shazib is accused of placing the improvised explosive device (IED) at the cafe. Additionally, Abdul Matheen Taha is implicated as a co-conspirator in the incident. Both Taha and Shazib hail from Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district, according to statements from the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
