YSRCP clears second list of candidates with 27 names, 3 MPs to contest assembly elections
Tuesday, 2 January 2024 YSRCP released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly elections. The list includes candidates for Vijayawada (Central) and Vijayawada (West) constituencies. J Santha, sister of former BJP MP Sriramulu, has been fielded from the Hindupuram Lok Sabha constituency. The party has also announced candidates for other constituencies across Andhra Pradesh.

On April 28, the Election Commission of India (ECI) directed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to revise the content of its Lok Sabha campaign song to adhere to the Advertising Codes outlined in the Cable Television Network Rules, 1994, and ECI guidelines. The AAP was requested to make necessary modifications to the song and resubmit it for certification. “The phrase “jail ke jawaab me hum vote denge” showing an aggressive mob holding the photo of Arvind Kejriwal showing him behind bars, casts aspersions on the Judiciary. Further, the said phrase appears several times in the advertisement which contravenes the provisions of ECI Guidelines and Rule 6(1(g) of Programme and Advertising Codes prescribed under the Cable Television Network Rules, 1994” (DISPLAY) said ECI.
