HC relief for bank employee transferred due to RSS ties
Saturday, 13 January 2024 The Himachal Pradesh high court has stayed the transfer orders of a bank employee, who was allegedly shifted for being a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). A division bench comprising Chief Justice M S Ramachandra Rao and Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua, during the preliminary hearing of the case, observed that the applicant was transferred only because he was a member of the RSS. The court held that prima-facie the transfer order appeared to be patently arbitrary, illegal and violative of Article 14 of the Constitution of India.
The 101 Regulars woke to a frosty morning, with a crystalline layer of ice on their bikes, symbolizing their resilience. After refueling in Leh, they set off to Manali, crossing Sarchu, the gateway between Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.
Their ascent to Baralacha La (16,040 ft) offered stunning views and marked the confluence of the Bhaga, Yunam, and Tsarap Chu rivers. Navigating challenging terrains, they reached Suraj Tal, a serene high-altitude lake. After a pitstop at Zingzing Bar, they continued past Darcha, crossing Himachal’s longest bridge, and followed the Bhaga River to Jispa.
Skipping Rohtang Pass, they opted for the Rohtang Tunnel, a marvel of modern engineering, ensuring year-round connectivity. One lone rider paid homage at war memorials near Turtuk and Siachen Base Camp.
In Manali, the Regulars reminisced about their IMA days, cherishing the bonds forged during their service. This journey from high-altitude passes to serene valleys strengthened their camaraderie and spirit.

Congress leader Supriya Shrinate has called for the immediate removal of Amit Malviya, head of the BJP IT Cell, following serious allegations of exploitation. Shrinate highlighted accusations made by Shantanu Sinha, an RSS member linked to BJP leader Rahul Sinha, who claimed Malviya was involved in nefarious activities, including the exploitation of women in 5-star hotels and BJP offices in West Bengal. Emphasising the gravity of the charges, Shrinate insisted that justice for the women involved is paramount and that an independent inquiry is only possible if Malviya is removed from his influential position. The allegations surfaced less than 24 hours after Prime Minister Modi was sworn in for his third term, adding to the urgency of addressing the issue.
