IndiaTimes Wednesday, 24 January 2024
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge expressed concerns to Union home minister Amit Shah about security lapses faced by Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Assam. Kharge detailed incidents, including BJP workers obstructing Gandhi's convoy in Nagaon district. He accused Assam Police of being silent spectators and requested intervention to prevent untoward incidents endangering Gandhi's safety. The Congress President's letter further noted that despite the presence of ample evidence in the public domain, no arrests have been made, nor have investigations been initiated in many instances.

Lok Sabha Polls 2024: Fatehpur Sikri Braces for Fierce Electoral Battle | Oneindia News

Home to the revered shrine of Sufi saint Salim Chishti and the imposing red sandstone fortress built by Emperor Akbar, Fatehpur Sikri stands as a testament to the grandeur of the Mughal era. In the upcoming elections, the Fatehpur Sikri seat finds itself delicately poised, with both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress party setting their sights on clinching victory. The Congress, contesting 17 seats in Uttar Pradesh as part of its alliance with the Samajwadi Party under the INDIA bloc, has fielded Ramnath Sikarwar, popularly known as 'Fauji Baba,' to take on the BJP's sitting MP, Rajkumar Chahar. Chahar, who had secured a resounding victory in 2019 by defeating Raj Babbar, the then-state Congress president, with a margin of five lakh votes, faces twin challenges this time around. Not only is he grappling with internal party conflicts over his candidature, but he also finds himself confronted with significant anti-incumbency sentiment. Pankaj Mishra, Imran Shah and Rajender Bhandari visited Fatehpur Sikri report. #LokSabhaPolls2024 #LokSabhaPolls #FatehpurSikriLokSabhaPoll #CongressVsBJP ~HT.99~PR.100~PR.282~CA.144~

Rahul Gandhi's 'Shakti' Slip: BJP latches on, Rocky Political Journey Amid Elections for Cong?

Rahul Gandhi's recent statement at the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra's finale in Mumbai sparked controversy. While attempting to criticise BJP's tactics, his mention of "Shakti" in Hindu dharma was perceived differently, leading to BJP using it against Congress and Rahul. Congress defended Gandhi, attributing his words to BJP's power through RSS and 'Manuvaad.' However, the incident highlights the importance of careful language in political discourse, especially during elections, to avoid unintended consequences and misinterpretations. #RahulGandhi #BJPvsCongress #LanguageMatters #HinduDharma #ShaktiRow ~HT.97~PR.282~
