India, France in talks for financing mechanism, localisation for Jaitapur n-project

India and France are actively advancing discussions on establishing a financing mechanism and a localization component for the 9,900 MWe Jaitapur nuclear power plant located in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district. In response to inquiries about civil nuclear cooperation between the two countries and any potential pause on the Jaitapur project, Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra stated. In 2020, the EDF submitted its techno-commercial offer for the project.
