Ready for talks but stop raising new issues, government tells farmers
Centre on Tuesday said it was ready for more talks with farmers but asked them to refrain from continuously adding new issues to their charter of demands, while also cautioning them about the possibility of certain elements seeking to defame their protest for political benefits. "In the two rounds of discussions in Chandigarh, we agreed to many of their demands. But there was no agreement on certain issues. Talks are still on," agriculture minister Arjun Munda said a day after farmers' unions walked out of talks.
