Delhi: Jama Masjid shahi imam to appoint son as successor

Syed Ahmed Bukhari, the shahi imam of Jama Masjid, is appointing his son, Syed Usama Shaban Bukhari, as his successor in the Dastarbandi ceremony. This tradition continues the lineage established by his great grandfather, Syed Abdul Ghafoor Shah Bukhari, appointed by emperor Shah Jahan.
