Congress has selected candidates for 12 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, with Praniti Shinde set to run from Solapur, her father Sushil Kumar Shinde's previous constituency. Sahu Maharaj is the likely contender for Kolhapur. The party is urging Vijay Waddetiwar, leader of the opposition, to stand for Chandrapur, though he prefers his daughter, Shivani, a young leader, to contest from there instead.
