BSF, Bangladesh border guards to hold talks in Feb on construction of single-row fence
Monday, 13 January 2025 The DG-level talks between the BSF and BGB will address the issue of India's construction of a single-row fence along the Indo-Bangladesh border. BSF had halted construction in West Bengal after BGB objections. Despite prior approvals, BGB seeks to revisit agreements following a regime change. Additional concerns include border tensions unrelated to the fence and the recent killing of a suspected smuggler.
The BSF Bharat Darshan Tour 2025 concluded with a vibrant ceremony at the BSF Nizamuddin facility in Delhi, where 100 students and teachers from Mizoram celebrated their enriching journey across India. Organised by the Border Security Force under the Ministry of Home Affairs, the tour aimed to promote national integration, cultural awareness, and a deeper understanding of India’s heritage. The concluding session was graced by Hon’ble MoS Home Affairs, Shri Nityanand Rai, who interacted with the students and praised BSF’s efforts in connecting border-state youth with the nation's historical and cultural legacy.
