Maharashtra MLA and Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi was suspended from the assembly for his controversial remarks about Mughal ruler Aurangzeb. Azmi claimed India flourished under Aurangzeb, prompting backlash and FIRs for hurting religious sentiments. Despite his apology, seputy CM Eknath Shinde called him a traitor. Azmi maintained his comments were based on historical accounts.
