Pakistan Faces Severe Water Crisis As Indus Waters Treaty Still In Abeyance | Punjab Hit Hardest

Pakistan is staring at a water disaster as India holds the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 in abeyance. The flow of water from rivers like Chenab and Jhelum has plummeted, with Punjab province the worst affected. Water availability in the Indus system is down by over 10%, raising alarm for the approaching kharif season. Pakistan's key dams—Tarbela and Mangla—are also below optimal levels. The crisis follows India’s suspension of the treaty after the Pahalgam terror attack, and Pakistan has warned that blocking water flow could be considered an "act of war." #PakistanWaterCrisis #IndusWatersTreaty #IndiaPakistan #PunjabDrought #ChenabRiver #IRSA #WaterWar #TarbelaDam #ManglaDam #KharifSeason #IndusRiver #JhelumRiver #WaterShortage #CrossBorderTensions #Geopolitics #IndiaNews #PakistanNews #ClimateCrisis #SouthAsiaCrisis #BreakingNews ~HT.318~GR.122~

'No water for Terror' - India Blocks Chenab River Flow to Pakistan after Pahalgam Attack, Dams Shut

In a powerful response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, India has escalated its diplomatic and strategic actions against Pakistan. As part of suspending cooperation under the Indus Waters Treaty, India has blocked the flow of water from the Chenab River by shutting the gates of the Salal and Baglihar dams. Reports from Pakistan show the riverbed of Chenab drying up in several regions. #IndiaPakistan #ChenabRiver #IndusWatersTreaty #PahalgamAttack #ModiGovernment #WaterDiplomacy #BagliharDam #SalalDam #IndiaStrikesBack #Geopolitics #NationalSecurity #NoWaterForTerror Also Read India Begins Work On Hydroelectric Projects In Kashmir Amid Indus Treaty Suspension With Pakistan: Reports :: https://www.oneindia.com/india/india-begins-work-on-hydroelectric-projects-in-kashmir-amid-indus-treaty-suspension-with-pakistan-r-4143719.html?ref=DMDesc Bilawal Bhutto Threatens India Over Scrapping Indus Water Treaty: 'Either Our Water Will Flow, Or Their Blood' :: https://www.oneindia.com/international/bilawal-bhutto-threatens-india-over-scrapping-indus-water-treaty-either-our-water-will-flow-or-th-4135561.html?ref=DMDesc Pakistan Will Give Befitting Response To Any Misadventure: Islamabad On India Suspending Indus Water Treaty :: https://www.oneindia.com/international/pakistan-will-give-befitting-response-to-any-misadventure-islamabad-on-india-suspending-indus-water-4133169.html?ref=DMDesc ~PR.274~HT.408~
