SC: Govt nod must to prosecute even officials accused of exceeding powers

The Supreme Court has ruled that public servants, including police officials, are protected from prosecution without prior government sanction, even when they exceed their official powers. This protection applies as long as there is a reasonable connection between the alleged wrongdoing and their official duties.
