Defusing disasters since 1957: India’s only civil defence college in Nagpur puts training to work

For nearly seven decades, Nagpur's NDRF Academy, formerly NCDC, has been training first responders in civil defense. The Union home ministry-run institute offers courses in nuclear emergencies, bomb disposal, and disaster response. Open to state and UT-nominated candidates, the academy uses realistic props like train bogies and aircraft shells for hands-on training.
