Local train cancellations to hit North Chennai commuters
Saturday, 24 May 2025 () Chennai's northern suburban train commuters will face significant disruptions on May 24th and 26th due to a four-hour engineering block. Southern Railway has fully cancelled 21 EMU and MEMU services, partially cancelling two others, impacting routes to Gummidipoondi and Sullurupeta. While 10 special services are planned, commuters worry about overcrowding and inadequate frequency, especially affecting daily commutes and weekend travel.
