'Milestone moment': Army receives first batch of Apache helicopters from US; to be deployed in Jodhpur
Tuesday, 22 July 2025 Three AH-64E Apache attack helicopters, part of a Rs 5,691 crore deal with the US, have arrived at Hindon Air Force Station, enhancing the Indian Army's offensive capabilities. These "tanks in the air" will be stationed in Jodhpur, where the Army raised its first Apache squadron. The remaining three Apaches are expected by the end of 2025.

A devastating cloudburst has hit Dharali in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, killing at least four people and leaving many missing. The Kheer Gadh river swelled violently, sweeping away homes, hotels, and entire villages near Harsil in seconds. Visuals show buildings crumbling under massive floodwaters. Over 20 hotels and homestays are feared destroyed. Massive rescue operations led by the Army, NDRF, SDRF, and local police are underway.
