Greta Thunberg and 11 other activists aboard the Madleen, a ship carrying aid to Gaza, have reached Egypt’s coast. Part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, the vessel departed from Sicily to challenge Israel’s blockade on Gaza. The crew, including German activist Yasemin Acar, say they are safe but prepared for confrontation. The Israeli Navy is expected to intercept the UK-flagged ship if it enters Israeli waters, a move rights groups say would violate international law. Britain has so far refused Israeli requests to block the ship’s entry into contested waters.

Venezuela has slammed the latest U.S. travel ban, with Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello calling America a “dangerous place” where Venezuelans are persecuted “for no reason.” The backlash follows President Trump’s proclamation banning entry from 12 nations, including Afghanistan, Iran, Somalia, and Yemen. Somali Ambassador Dahir Abdi says he’s open to dialogue, but many see the ban as discriminatory. The White House defends it as “common sense” national security. Trump cited a recent attack in Colorado by Egyptian nationals—though Egypt is not on the list.

Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, has been identified as the suspect in a violent firebomb attack on a peaceful pro-Israel protest near Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, Colorado. Authorities say Soliman allegedly threw Molotov cocktails, injuring six elderly individuals. The FBI is investigating the incident as a possible act of terrorism. Soliman, an Egyptian national, reportedly overstayed his U.S. visa and had a work permit that expired in March 2025. Eyewitnesses claim he shouted anti-Zionist slogans during the attack. The investigation remains ongoing.

The quake, at a depth of 69 km, was centered north of Crete, near Ágios Nikólaos and Irákleion. Residents reported intense, brief tremors. This seismic event follows a similar 6.0 quake in the Mediterranean last week. Situated on a major tectonic boundary, Greece remains highly quake-prone, with thousands of tremors recorded recently in the Cyclades region alone.
