Lebanon's Hezbollah says fired on Israeli positions
Saturday, 14 October 2023 Hezbollah, the Iran-backed group in Lebanon, has claimed responsibility for shelling Israeli positions in a disputed border area. This comes as tensions rise between Israel and Hezbollah's Palestinian ally, Hamas. The cross-border fire between the two sides has been ongoing since Hamas launched an attack on Israel. The conflict has resulted in the deaths of over 1,300 people in Israel and over 2,200 people in the Gaza Strip.
