Denmark narrows legislation on barring Koran burning

Denmark's government has presented a modified version of its bill to ban Koran burnings after criticism that the initial draft limited freedom of expression and would be difficult to enforce. The revised bill now specifically targets improper treatment of religious scriptures of significance. The first draft received backlash from politicians, artists, media, and freedom of speech experts who saw it as a return to a blasphemy law. The new version of the bill will be debated in the Danish parliament on November 14.
