Child padlocked in Polish grave reflects ancient supernatural beliefs

Archaeologists in Poland have discovered the remains of a child from the 17th century who was buried with a padlock to prevent them from becoming a vampire. The child's grave was found in a cemetery for rejected individuals who were believed to have contacts with unclean forces. Other graves in the cemetery also contained stones placed on different body parts to protect against the deceased. This finding sheds light on the belief in vampires during that era.
