Bangladesh: Retired army general arrested over fake 'Biden's adviser' connection

Former army general Chowdhury Hasan Suhrawardi has been arrested in Bangladesh for allegedly orchestrating a media appearance by a Bangladeshi-American who claimed to be a close advisor to US President Joe Biden. The American, Mian Zahidul Islam Arefy, has been charged with fraudulence and instigating anarchy, and Suhrawardi is accused of being the mastermind behind the scheme. The US embassy in Dhaka has stated that Arefy does not speak for the US government and is a private individual.
