Renowned British novelist A.S. Byatt has passed away at the age of 87. Byatt, known for her Booker-prize winning novel "Possession: A Romance," had a career spanning nearly six decades. She was hailed as one of the most significant writers and critics of her time. Byatt's works included "Shadow of a Sun" and "Angels and Insects," both of which were adapted into films. She courted controversy in 2003 when she criticized adult readers of the Harry Potter books.
