UK PM Sunak warns Rwanda migration plan will collapse without party unity

IndiaTimes Thursday, 7 December 2023
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak appeals to his Conservative Party to support his plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda. He warns that further toughening of the legislation could collapse the whole scheme. Sunak faces challenges from lawmakers on the right wing of the party who want Britain to quit international treaties for its own migration policy. The immigration minister's resignation and the possibility of a leadership challenge add to the pressure. The UK PM is trying to revive the economy and shore up party support for the legislation.
