Maldives visit of Chinese survey ship could rouse Indian Ocean security concerns

A Chinese research ship has docked in the Maldives, according to global ship-tracking data. This comes just three months after a similar vessel visited the Indian Ocean and raised concerns over India's security. In January, a US think tank suggested that China's navy could use the information gathered from these missions to deploy its naval forces. However, Beijing has dismissed these claims, calling them part of a fabricated "China threat" narrative.
