Sudan: 5 million at risk of starvation due to war, UN says

According to UN humanitarian head Martin Griffiths, approximately 5 million people in Sudan may face "catastrophic food insecurity" in the next months as conflict between opposing generals continues. The battle between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces militia has had a significant impact on agricultural production, hindered trade, caused price increases, and hampered the flow of humanitarian relief, he stated.
