Sudan's paramilitary chief announces rival government of 'peace and unity'
Wednesday, 16 April 2025 A paramilitary group fighting the Sudanese military has announced it is forming a rival government, as the country's civil war passes its second anniversary.
EU-AU ministers vow to strengthen partnership on peace, and security amid geopolitical volatility
The last time that foreign ministers from both continents met, Russia had not invaded its neighbour Ukraine, the war in Sudan had not begun, and France, a leading member of the 27-nation EU bloc, had not lost its influence in Africa's Sahel region, where its military was forced out last year.
