Indonesian students without WiFi protest online lectures during coronavirus

Students in Indonesia protest against the move to online lectures amid the COVID-19 lockdown.

Footage from Thursday (April 16) shows the demonstration and rubber tyres burning on Muhammadiyah University campus in Sorong City.

According to local media, many students who study at the university do not have cellphones, laptops and some do not have internet facilities.

"We reject online lectures, and the main thing is the change of the chancellor official of the Sorong Muhammadiyah University.

He is still needed, while the new officials are not in accordance with the wishes of the students," Abu Kilian, Chair of the Student Executive Board told reporters.
