Stray dog tries to walk the wrong way up train station escalator

A hapless stray dog was seen trying to walk the wrong way up an escalator.

The pooch wandered onto the train platform and scampered over to the stairway in Bangkok, Thailand, on July 23.

He appeared to be trying to reach the upper floor of the city's BTS Sky Train monorail - but was foiled by his own inexperience after taking the wrong walkway.

Footage shows bemused commuters passing by the mutt as it struggles up the escalator, which is moving downwards.

The black and white eventually gave up and turned round before walking away down the stairs.

Onlooker, Wichunai, said: ''The dog was trying for a while to walk up the escalator but he was not strong enough.

I don't think humans could even walk up there, it's quite fast.

''He wasn't hurt and he went away back onto the pavement below.'' Thai capital Bangkok has tens of thousands of stray dogs roaming the streets and scavenging for food.
