Over 40 Assam cops donate plasma after beating COVID-19

43 police personnel who recovered from COVID-19 donated their blood plasma at the camp in Assam on August 01.

Assam Police in collaboration with State Health Department and National Health Mission organised the plasma donation camp at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital.

So far, 9,814 active COVID cases have been recorded in the state.

Gymnasiums began operations in Assam's Guwahati on August 03. The state government of Assam issued new guidelines for unlock 3.0 on August 02. Now, this comes as a relief to several gym owners and fitness trainers who have been facing massive financial losses after having been shut since March.

Clashes broke out in the Cachar area of Assam over Ram Temple bhoomi poojan posters being put up by a few people. Two groups of people first had a  verbal altercation over putting up the posters which quickly turned into stone pelting. Security officials rushed to the area and the situation was quickly brought under control. Armed paramilitary forces are presently guarding the area which has been sealed and curfew has been imposed to prevent any further flare-up. There are no reports of any injuries or casualties from the area so far. The incident comes days before the grand foundation laying ceremony in Ayodhya, which will be attended by PM Modi. Preparations are underway in the temple town to make the event a big success. Tight security has also been put in place to avoid any untoward incident. The temple town has been turned into a virtual fortress for the event which will be attended by top dignitaries including the Prime Minister. Watch the full video for all the details.

A clash broke out between two groups in Mukam road area of Cachar on August 02. The clash was over the obstruction of some religious youth who were putting up posters of the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Ram Temple. Verbal argument went up to stone pelting. Tensions escalated when top police officials arrived to deal with the situation. At present the whole area is under the control of the armed paramilitary forces. The area has been sealed and curfew is imposed.

Over 40 Assam cops donate blood plasma after beating Covid-19

Over 40 Assam cops donated blood plasma after beating Covid-19. Assam Police organized a blood donation camp in Guwahati on August 01. It was organized in collaboration with State Health Department & National Health Mission. As per reports, a total of 67 personnel of Assam Police volunteered to donate plasma for treatment of COVID-19 patients out of which 43 personnel were found eligible to donate plasma. They were felicitated by Minister of Health Himanta Biswa Sarma, Minister of State, Health department Pijush Hazarika, DGP Assam Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, Harmit Singh, ADGP(A), M P Gupta, Commissioner of Police Guwahati and other dignitaries. On Aug 01, 1,457 new positive cases pushed the Covid-19 count to 41,726 in Assam. Watch the full video for more details.

Assam Police detained two people in possession of exotic animals, including one baby kangaroo in Cachar. "Two people detained yesterday in possession of exotic animals, including 1 kangaroo, 6 macaw parrots, 3 tortoises and 2 monkeys at Lailapur Forest," Jagadish Das, the Additional Superintendent of Police of Cachar district.
