Former IPL chief and Congress leader Rajeev Shukla informed that BCCI President SouravGanguly, who has been hospitalised after suffering cardiac arrest,is showing improvement in his health condition. "We all are wishing a speedy recovery for the former Captain of Team India as well as BCCI President SouravGanguly. He had a mild heart attack, but it's not that serious. Doctors are taking care of him and his condition is improving," said Former IPL Chief Rajeev Shukla.
Speaking to media in Gujarat's Ahmedabad on December 24, Vice President (VP) of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), Amin Pathan spoke on BCCI's 89th Annual General Meeting. Pathan said, "IPL will be held in April 2021 and the teams will be discussed by the executives." "BCCI is doing exemplary work for cricket," he added.
BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and other officials of the cricket board met at Ahmedabad's Hotel Taj Skyline on December 24 for the 89th Annual General Body Meeting. Various topics including tax issue, introduction of two new IPL teams, and inclusion of cricket in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics are likely to be discussed in the 89th AGM. Former Indian cricketer Madan Lal said that if R Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah will not play due to their injuries, Brisbane Test would be a tough nut to crack for Indian Cricket Team and Australian Cricket Team will be benefitted in their absence. He said that if Bumrah plays the Brisbane Test match then it can benefit the 'Men in Blue'.

India's right arm off break bowler, Ravichandran Ashwin during a press conference said that such incidents should be dealt with iron fist. Ashwin further said that crowd sitting in the lower tier of the stadium have hurled abuses and have been nasty. Ashwins said, "We've had a few experiences in the past here in Sydney and even one or two time the players have also responded. Crowd in the lower tier of the stadium have hurled abuses and they have been nasty. But this is the time they have gone one step ahead and used racial abuses. We have lodged a complaint this time. It is definitely not acceptable in this day and age and must be dealt with an iron fist."
