Surat's diamond industry getting back on track with increasing demand from abroad

After witnessing the shortest-ever Diwali break of 5 days, Surat's diamond industry experienced an increase in export of diamonds.

In comparison to 2019, export of diamonds increased by 92% in November, this year.

This is because of the halt the industry suffered for 4-5 months.

Diamond units got a chance to recover from the losses they suffered during lockdown.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on February 26 held a roadshow in Gujarat's Surat after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) scored seats in Gujarat local body polls. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) got good number of seats in civic body polls in its debut. The party got 27 seats in the Surat Municipal Corporation. The ruling BJP swept the polls across six municipal corporations in Gujarat, winning 483 out of 576 seats.
